Dr. Joann Kunz is the practice owner at Lake Hills Veterinary Clinic. She is a graduate of Ross University school of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 . She received her Bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State in Minnesota in 1997. She worked as a veterinary technician for 3 years at a busy emergency hospital in Minneapolis before starting veterinary school.
After graduating, she spent 2 years in the Community Practice Service at the University of Missouri Veterinary School as a Clinician. She loved teaching and watching the students grow and learn. She then spent 7 years in private practice before going back to the University to help develop the Shelter Medicine program. In January 2017 she purchased Lake Hills Veterinary Clinic and could not be happier.
Dr. Kunz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, the American Paint Horse Association as well as the American Quarter Horse Association. She is married with a 2 ½ year old son. When she has free time she likes to spend it with her family and friends. She and her husband enjoy horseback riding and compete in team sorting events throughout the year. They spend as much time enjoying the outdoors with their son and all their dogs and cats on their farm as they can.
Dr. Kunz would love for you to come by and meet her and her caring and compassionate staff- you will see for yourself how much they love animals and care for you and your pet!
My name is Megan Lane, I have been with Lake Hills Veterinary Clinic since April 2012. I was always the girl bringing home any critter I could find as a child and knew I would eventually work in the veterinary field. I currently have 4 dogs, 3 cats, and a mule. I have always had an obsession with the gratification I feel when helping animals. I love being outdoors, whether it is watering my garden and flowers, riding my mule, or even helping my husband work cattle. Hot summer days in the river are my favorite, along with cold snowy days watching movies!
My name is Jessica Wallace. I have lived at the Lake since I was 3 years old. I graduated from Camdenton High School in 2001. I was a waitress at Mexicali Blues for 15 years until I decided to change my career and applied for a college program online to become a certified veterinary assistant. I graduated from the program in June 2015 and started working at Lake Hills Veterinary Clinic in September 2015.
I currently have 2 dogs, Allie (8 years old) and Baby (4 years old). They literally are my kids as I nurture and worry about their wellbeing every day. I do enjoy my fairly new chosen profession and look forward to what adventures work will bring each day.
